One of the best ways to see the Bay Area is on two wheels. And one of the best ways you can show your support for other members of the community is to sign up for the Endue Ride taking place on June 21.
This annual ride raises funds for awareness of developmental disabilities such as Down’s Syndrome, Autism, and other permanent afflictions. As rates of these conditions continue to rise, it’s important for our community to stand together to support research, cures, and treatments that can help improve the lives of those affected.
The Endue Ride does just that and there are several you can choose from. The rides range in length from 30 km to 100 km, so you can ride as long and far as you would like.
Each ride starts at 6 a.m. and finishes around 3:30 p.m. All you have to do is sign-up and select the ride that is right for you.

Only in its second year in 2014, one of the most-anticipated annual events in San Mateo will soon arrive and draw thousands from around the Peninsula to the excitement and entertainment of SummerFest.
On June 21 and 22, residents can spend hours browsing through seven city blocks of booths, exhibits, vendors, local artisans, musicians, food, and plenty of other family-friendly attractions and activities at this one-of-a-kind, local festival. Well over 15,000 people were in attendance for last year’s Summer Fest, and the organizers are expecting even more this year.
SummerFest will also feature hands-on activities like cooking demonstrations, fun things for kids to do, arts and crafts with inspiring ideas for DIY home decorating, plenty of food vendors for day-long energy, and lots more. San Mateo’s “block party” will last 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days and will take place at B Street, between Tilton and Sixth Avenue in Downtown San Mateo (rain or shine).
For new residents in the area, this is the perfect opportunity to meet the neighbors and get acquainted with the community. For those traveling from the greater Bay Area, this is also a prime time to cross the San Mateo Bridge and see what this central location and historic downtown destination offers for work and play.

One of the oldest events in San Mateo, the fair still catches everyone’s attention with culinary demonstrations, fine arts, garden shows, equestrian competitions, and more. Of course, many end the night gazing down on the city lights from the top of the ferris wheel.
