Philz Coffee approaches coffee brewing from a new perspective. Rather than making one pot for all customers, Philz makes every cup of coffee individually, giving you the freshest and most enjoyable cup of coffee in town. All of the brews are made using specially designed techniques with a smooth flavor and low acid content.

You’ll want to try blends like:

  • Tantalizing Turkish: A very dark coffee that incorporates classic Turkish flavors, like cardamom.
  • Jacob’s Wonderbar: Dark and nutty with just a hint of chocolate.
  • Philharmonic: A lighter take on the Turkish blend, this is a blend coffee lovers rave about.
  • Code 33: Originally created for the San Francisco police, it is an exceptional dark roast with a kick to keep you awake.

At Philz you can grab your favorite cup of coffee to go, or you can purchase a bag to brew your own in one of our apartments.

It’s called the Fitness Flex Program, and it’s offered at Beresford and the Senior Center. It involves buying a Fitness Flex Pass in San Mateo for either 5, 10, or 20 classes, the purchase of which allows you entrance into any class offered at either center.

The Beresford center has 14 classes to choose from, including Zumba Gold, Yoga Fusion, Fusion Power Cardio, and Classic Cardio Dance, among others.

Pay a flat fee of $45/5, $75/10, or $140/20 classes, and just walk into whichever class fits your schedule.

Some of the more popular classes fill up quickly, so get there early. You don’t need to be a resident to buy a Fitness Flex Pass in San Mateo. The passes never expire, but they can’t be transferred to anyone else, and they aren’t refundable.

Sample the Pastas at Sole Ristorante Italiano in San Mateo

December 24th, 2014

Sole Ristorante Italiano isn’t like your typical pizza restaurants in San Mateo. For one thing, this restaurant doesn’t serve pizza.

For another, it’s owned by renowned chef Mario Di Paola, former co-owner of Sapore Italiano in Burlingame.

At Sole Ristorante Italiano, fresh and organic is king. Everything is made in-house per order, so each flavorful dish comes out beautifully plated and perfectly proportioned.

Come for lunch or dinner, but be sure to try at least one pasta dish and save room for one of the mouthwatering desserts.

All of the egg pastas are homemade and melt seductively on the tongue. The pappardelle, tagliolini, linguine, and ravioli served with shellfish and organic greens in a cream, white wine, or meat sauce will transport you to a sunny cafe in Capri with one bite.

Few restaurants in San Mateo bother making Zabaglione fresh nightly, but this one does. The daily Sorbetto is a light palate cleanser sure to please.

Call 650-341-5555 to make a reservation, then head down El Camino Real to 37th Avenue for an amazing meal. Share your opinion of this restaurant on our Facebook page.

  • Brush your dogs coat before you bath them. This will rid them of extra fur and it will help avoid matting when you shampoo them.
  • Put some cotton in the ears of your dog before you start to avoid extra moisture.
  • Thoroughly wet your dog before you apply shampoo. You want to be sure to avoid spraying them directly at the start of a bath.
  • Apply shampoo starting at the neck and working your way down.
  • As you rinse your dog, be sure to use your fingers to gently massage the fur in order to remove all the soap.
  • Your dog will naturally want to shake off the water so be sure to give them space to do so. You also want to gently dry your pup with the towel from the neck down.
  • Always end bath time at your luxury pet-friendly apartments in San Mateo with a reward and some fun. If your dog feels that bath time leads to fun, the more likely they will cooperate when being bathed in the future.

3 Ways Our San Mateo Apartments Keep Luxury Living Eco-Friendly

October 16th, 2014

You can feel good about living in our luxury green apartments in San Mateo. Our community is all about living eco-friendly and making a difference in our environment. Make note of the following ways that our apartment community supports green living.

888 San Mateo

The construction of our apartment homes is made from recycled materials. For instance, beam and joists are made from a recycled wood chip byproduct rather than using a wood frame construction. This way, we didn’t have to chop down trees from the forest, and they can continue to reduce CO2 in our atmosphere.

Low-flow fixtures are used in all of our apartment units. This helps to reduce the flow of water when you flush the toilet or take a shower. Conserving natural resources like water is important to us.

Energy star appliances have been installed in each apartment home in order to help reduce our carbon footprint. These appliances are also cost-efficient, allowing you to save money on your utility bills.

At 888 San Mateo, we pride ourselves in offering you the highest quality amenities possible. We have several amenities that are luxurious and will also help to keep you active.

Splash around in the pool, relax in the whirlpool spa, and get your workout on in the fitness center, which even includes a cardio theater. Take advantage of the studio for practicing yoga and pilates, hit some balls around as you play billiards, and more.

Are you looking for luxury green apartments in San Mateo? If that’s the case, please contact us for details about our community and its fantastic amenities.
