One of the best ways to see the Bay Area is on two wheels. And one of the best ways you can show your support for other members of the community is to sign up for the Endue Ride taking place on June 21.
This annual ride raises funds for awareness of developmental disabilities such as Down’s Syndrome, Autism, and other permanent afflictions. As rates of these conditions continue to rise, it’s important for our community to stand together to support research, cures, and treatments that can help improve the lives of those affected.
The Endue Ride does just that and there are several you can choose from. The rides range in length from 30 km to 100 km, so you can ride as long and far as you would like.
Each ride starts at 6 a.m. and finishes around 3:30 p.m. All you have to do is sign-up and select the ride that is right for you.

It’s amazing how pets impact the lives of owners, becoming best friends and helping pet owners live healthier lives. Adopt a pet from the Peninsula Humane Society (PHS) and experience all the great aspects of pet ownership.
At the Burlingame location at 1450 Rollins Road, residents can adopt animals that are ready to find a home today. The first step is filling out an Adoption Profile; afterwards, a counselor creates the perfect match between families and pet companions.
Animals are also available for adoption at their mobile locations throughout San Mateo County. Look out for their animals at the San Mateo County Fair this June, or find them at Petco Unleashed in San Mateo on June 29, 11:30 a.m. to -3 p.m., which is within walking distance of our luxury community.

There is good food, and then there is great food. For the latter, 888 San Mateo residents can take a trip over to THREE restaurant & bar, just over a mile from the community, at 50 E. Third Ave.
This downtown restaurant is busy building a reputation that’s larger than the Golden Gate. Their philosophy is simple: great food made from scratch, herbs from their living wall, and vegetables from their roof-top garden.
Combined into one meal, these fundamentals come together to create the best breakfast, lunch or dinner locals have ever eaten. The starters of pulled-pork tacos, pickled vegetables and braised olives might be enough for any appetite, but diners may want to save room for the coffee-chili-rubbed New York strip, blue cheese gnocchi, lamb burgers, and lemon meringue tartlets for dessert.
On the weekends, THREE serves up yam fritters in plum-chipotle sauce, potato pancakes with smoked salmon, buttermilk pancakes and waffles covered in whipped cream and strawberries, and house-made sausage omelets. Coupled with the attentive service, a convenient location and tasty drink menu (complete with craft beers and house-infused cocktails), it’s a dining experience unparalleled anywhere in the Bay Area.

San Mateo is an excellent city for cyclists. There are a number of bicycle trails in San Mateo where both casual riders and those set on unseating the leaders of the Tour de France can hone their skills.
The best thing about the trail network in the area is that, well, it covers the whole area. Riders can leave from San Mateo and pedal all the way up to San Francisco. Along the way, cyclists can pop into Bay Area towns to eat lunch or head on up to Fisherman’s Wharf to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Bay. Visit Talbots Cyclery in San Mateo for a map of the entire San Francisco Bay Trail where riders find nothing but bay views along the coast.
Of course, that’s a long ride. For shorter jaunts, the city offers the six-mile Sawyer Camp Trail Ride, the 1.5-mile Seal Slough Ride to Mariners Island Park, the two-mile Ryder Park Ride, and the half-mile Central Park Ride.
In an effort to become a more pedestrian- and cyclist-friendly city, San Mateo has installed 50 new bike racks downtown, as well as bike lockers at local Caltrain stations. With the recent upgrades and improvements, and plans to continue paving the way for pedestrians and cyclists, cycling in the city has never been easier.
At the Peninsula’s newest apartment community, residents can easily take off and explore the sights from the convenient location. Contact 888 San Mateo today at 855-805-6160 to join this brand new apartment community in San Mateo, complete with a bike maintenance workshop and storage for cyclists.
