Central Park Music Series: Free Summer Events in San Mateo

Every Thursday evening between 6 and 8 pm through August 14th, as the breezes waft across Central Park, so do the sweet sounds of the Central Park Music Series.

The 2014 band lineup features local favorites like:

• July 3 – Club 90 brings you 90’s pop hits.
• July 10 – California Cowboys prove Country Western music has a place in California.
• July 17 – Stompy Jones offers vintage jazz.
• July 24 – Tempest is Celtic rock at its best.
• July 31 – Solsa performs popular Latin sounds.
• August 7 – Aja Vu with Stealin’Chicago covers Steely Dan and Chicago brass.
• August 14 – David Martin’s House Party offers high-energy dance tunes from many eras.

The music is free, and the venue is gorgeous and easy to find from 888 San Mateo. Just follow San Mateo Drive southeast toward State Street. Turn right on East 5th Avenue. The entire trip is just 1.4 miles.
