Help San Mateo Go Green in the Bayfront Cleanup

August 12th, 2014

We always encourage our residents to live a green lifestyle, both on and off our property. One way to go green in San Mateo is to participate in the Thirtieth Bayfront Cleanup.

Volunteers of the cleanup pitch a hand in picking up the shoreline and creating a cleaner environment.

The Bayfront Cleanup is scheduled to take place on Sept. 20 at Ryder Park, just minutes from our luxury apartments in San Mateo.

You can register between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., the cleanup itself will run from 8 a.m. until noon. It is not recommended that children under the age of ten participate in this event.

You are going to be picking up litter throughout the shoreline of San Mateo Creek, so it is important to dress for the event. We suggest wearing older clothes with sturdy but comfortable shoes.

If you are planning to take part in the Tidelands Mud Crawl, you may want to wear water resistant boots. You should not wear flip flops, open-toed shoes or anything you mind getting dirty.

All volunteers of the Bayfront Cleanup are treated to hotdogs, hamburgers and refreshments, as well as live music. There are even prizes for the “Catch of The Day” winners, in which volunteers share the most unusual litter they found while cleaning.
