- Get a cue: You want one that feels good in your hands, with enough wrap to give you a good grip. Look for a stick about 19-20 ounces, and about 58″ in length.
- Focus on form: Don’t grip the stick too hard with your non-shooting hand. Practice a soft grip that allows the cue stick to move smoothly as you take the shot.
- Take it easy on the chalk: Though you need to chalk the cue tip before every shot, don’t grind the chalk cube. A little bit goes a long way.
- Take your time: Lining up the best shot is part art, part science. Take your time, and see where the ball will go before you strike it.
